White Water SUP Safer Course:

  • Minimum 2 people required

This is a great course that is aimed at those that paddle as a group and want to better understand how to look after each other and themselves on the water. throughout the day we will look at the following

  • Reading lines & identifying hazards
  • Setting up safety
  • Paddling without a leash
  • Board retrieval
  • Rescuing swimmers
  • Looking after ourselves in the water
  • Aftercare

We believe that anyone who paddles as part of a group should attend this course as it is a vital part in keeping within current guidance and keeping each other safe.

  • Previous river SUP experience required.
  • 2 Bookings minimum
  • A website fee of 1.4% is included in the price of each product. Upon refund or any reason, the 1.4% will not be refunded. Westaway Adventures does not profit from this 1.4%

Hire Options

Kit List:

ATTENTION: Please read the kit list very carefully before booking onto a course. If you don’t have the correct equipment, you may not be able to paddle.

For River SUP sessions you will need the following: 

  • Board 
  • Paddle 
  • Helmet 
  • Buoyancy Aid (Must be CE approved and a strap that wraps around your body underneath the buoyancy aid)
  • Suitable footwear (old trainers/wetsuit boots – Must have a good solid sole to protect your feet 
  • Quick Release Leash System (Optional)
  • Drysuit or Wetsuit 
  • Elbow & Knee pads (Optional) 
  • Food & Water (Dry bag to put it in for the day)

Hire Prices (Per Day):

  • Board Hire – £35
  • Paddle Hire – £20
  • Helmet – £10
  • Buoyancy Aid – £15

If you have your own buoyancy aid please make sure it’s suitable for moving water.

It needs to have an ‘Anti Ride Up Waist Belt’ This is a strap wrapping around the waist at the lowest point of the buoyancy aid. For reference, the buoyancy aid in the photo has the correct strap.
